It doesn’t take a soothsayer to predict that the world in 2012 will be a very uncertain place. Investment outlooks are a moving target, with the Eurozone suffering ever greater shocks, the US straining to regain its triple-A Standard & Poor’s rating while it hurtles towards a general election and the UK economy showing as many negative indicators as positive ones.
Within the context of pensions, assuming that auto-enrolment goes ahead as planned, it also promises to be a busy year and one that will see great change. In this special report Pensions Insight has asked a panel of senior representatives from pension schemes to pit their wits against providers and consultants on a range of topics that will undoubtedly be of relevance for next year.
The panel of experts:
- Ian Richards, independent trustee
- Brian Bailey, West Midlands Pension Fund
- Chris Martin, independent trustee, ITS Limited
- Mike Sullivan, pensions director, Veolia
