For many scheme managers, the twelve months between the Budgets of 2014 and 2015 will probably be remembered as one of the most testing periods they have ever had to face. Pensions freedoms and the changes that went with it didn’t just take the industry by surprise, they also set into motion a timetable for far-reaching revolution to be met by.
That’s why the categories at this year’s Pensions Insight magazine’s DC Insight Awards 2015 which specifically celebrate the resolve and response of managers, will arguably be the most highly prized.
Of the 21 awards categories being contested, these are the categories that celebrate the best contract-based scheme of the year; best trust-based scheme of the year; best mastertrust; as well as those suppliers deemed to have produced the best communications and best financial education of the year.
Those who scoop these awards will be recognise for not only surviving the legislative challenges, but thriving in them too. These winners will be those who have helped the schemes they’re responsible for stand out in terms of value for money they provide and also how the communications they gave kept members up-to-date within the fast-changing legislative landscape.
Awards for best mastertrust; best contract-based scheme, and best trust-based scheme will all recognise those with the best strategies in place for structuring their schemes to ensure they meet their members’ needs, as well as ensuring they are designed to offer value for money. Judges will also be on the lookout for those who explain (with evidence) how they monitor their scheme and its investment strategy.
To be in with a chance however, you need to make sure you enter. The deadline for entries is July 20 and so is fast approaching. If you feel you made it through the last year in a better place than when you started, don’t delay, and enter before it’s too late.
Winners will receive their awards – the only ones focused solely on DC schemes and their providers – at a lavish awards ceremony in October. But to be there, you’ll need to tell us about your scheme and why it deserves our judge’s praise. Fortunately, entry couldn’t be simpler. All you need to do is log-on to http://events.pensions-insight.co.uk/dc-awards/categories-and-entry-criteria/
You’ll be taken through the entry process step-by-step, and can submit your entry all in one go, or come back to it as and when you feel like it.
Just don’t forget the entry deadline of 20th July. Get your successes to us by then, and you could be in the company of 2015’s top achievers later this year.
