Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association reveals new leader

Julian Mund, formerly commercial services director and acting chief executive of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association, will become the organisation’s new chief executive from 1 August 2017.

He takes over the role from Joanne Segars who left the PLSA in June to join the LGPS Central pool as non-executive chairwoman.

Mund joined the PLSA in September 2013 as commercial services director. He previously worked at the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy for 16 years.

Commenting on his future plans for the trade body, he said: ”I want us to champion and focus on the areas that matter most to our members, and help us to provide a strong foundation for people’s retirement income.”

Current chair of the PLSA Lesley Williams praised Mund’s successful leadership  ”during a very uncertain time,” saying that he had succeeded in ”ensuring stability and the continuity of our work.”

Williams completes her two-year tenure as chair in October and will be succeeded by Richard Butcher, managing director of PTL.
